Kendra Cocksedge to become Rugby Ambassador with Miles Toyota and Canterbury Rugby

Canterbury halfback Kendra Cocksedge will take on a new role in 2022, joining forces with Canterbury Rugby and Miles Toyota to become a Miles Toyota Community Rugby Ambassador.

This partnership allows Cocksedge, Canterbury Rugby and Miles Toyota to continue the alignment and connection between all three parties and the community, providing opportunities for further growth through a range of different community engagement programmes.

As the Rugby Ambassador, Cocksedge will head up the Miles Toyota High Performance Series, which will be brought to a number of secondary schools throughout the Canterbury region.

The High Performance Series is designed to equip students, families and teachers with practical tools and perspectives in the lifestyle, balance and wellness areas, crucial to the teenage years. The programme will be presented by Cocksedge and supported by leading professionals in the wider Canterbury region.

“We’re super excited to have engaged the services of Kendra to partner with the Union to facilitate the schools programme helping our young players to develop strategies and navigate their way through their sporting aspirations and onto post school careers, what ever that may be” said Miles Toyota CEO Mark Mills

The Miles Toyota High Performance Series started last week with an introductory session at St Andrews College, with players from schools involved in the Miles Toyota Championship and Cup along to listen in, as well as be presented with their 2022 pins for being involved in our region's premier 1st XV competitions.

“I’m really looking forward to working alongside the Canterbury Rugby and Miles Toyota teams to give back to our local schools and wider communities” Cocksedge said.

“It was great to get the High Performance Series underway last week at St Andrews, and I’m excited about the prospect of sharing some of the knowledge I have picked up over my career with the next generation of talent.”
