Matt Todd

215.jpg
Winner of numerous Canterbury player of the year awards, Matt Todd is an intelligent and skillful player who is always at or near the top of the statistics, whether it be tackles, turnovers or offloads.  He has the versatility to play blindside or openside flanker.
Todd has been involved in six Premiership-winning Canterbury sides. He is consistently one of the hardest working players in the squad and always proves to be one of the most valuable players on the field with his relentless defence and ability to score tries.
He has also been a key member of the Crusaders since 2011 and captained the side at the beginning of 2015 while Kieran Read was on leave.
He was called into the All Blacks squad to play France in 2013 and was considered by many to be unlucky not to have gained the call-up in 2014.  He was recalled to the squad last year and continues to make a claim for higher honours off the back of yet another solid Super Rugby campaign in 2016.
