Joe Moody

206.jpg
Moody has been a rising star since his provincial debut in 2011. He helped Canterbury take the Premiership title in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 competitions, was selected for the Crusaders wider training squad in 2012, earned promotion to the senior squad in 2013, and also earned selection in the All Blacks training squad for the Rugby Championship that year (as injury cover for Wyatt Crockett).
Sadly he missed selection in the 2013 All Black end of year tour after seriously injuring his ankle in the final for Canterbury.  He recovered in time to put in some game time for the Crusaders and that was enough to get him into the All Blacks squad again for the 2014 Bledisloe Cup. He is now a regular in the national team.
As a former rugby league junior and New Zealand wrestling representative who won a junior Commonwealth Games bronze medal and competed at the world junior championships, Moody is no pushover in the scrum.
As well as representing the All Blacks in 19 matches to date, Moody has two caps for the Maori All Blacks.
