Forceful Canterbury down feisty Waikato

Canterbury and Waikato locked heads on Sunday in a replay of the ITM Cup final of 2011. It was all go in the first half with a whopping seven tries scored in just 40 minutes. Canterbury looked in control early on but a determined Waikato fought back hard to almost draw level at the half time whistle. However after the break Canterbury came out with a more structured open play strategy and held Waikato at bay as they pulled ahead to win 52-27.
Taranaki fend off Canterbury's Shield challenge

Canterbury were unable to wrestle the Ranfurly shield off holders Taranaki in drizzly conditions at Yarrow Stadium. Taranaki remain the only unbeaten team in the ITM cup.
Canterbury hold off Lions

Canterbury played host to the top of the table Wellington Lions on Saturday afternoon. The match was tipped to be a preview of the premiership final so the stakes were high. There was no lack of motivation for the Canterbury team, who were wanting to secure a victory for Nasi Manu on his 50thprovincial appearance in the red and black and to ensure forward momentum on their campaign for another championship title.
Canterbury hammer Harbour

It was truly a game of two halves when Canterbury hosted North Harbour on Saturday afternoon. A tight game in the first half left the score at just 10-3 at half time, but a clinical, quick and courageous Canterbury team came out in the second half to hammer a gutsy North Harbour side that just fell off the pace, giving a score of 36-3 at the final whistle.
Canterbury welcomed home with a win

The ITM Cup returned to AMI Stadium for the first time in 2012 and the home team were greeted with perfect rugby conditions and a strong home crowd.
