Canterbury clinch semi-final thriller

Canterbury and Taranaki faced off in the first Premiership semi-final at AMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The red and black fans were treated to 100 minutes of running rugby when the match was pushed into overtime. Taranaki denied Canterbury the shield in round robin play and with a 5th premiership title on the line, there was no lack of motivation in the red and black camp.

Both Hawkes Bay and Canterbury had plenty to play for when they faced off at Mclean Park on Wednesday night. Hawkes Bay was looking to secure a win that would give them some breathing space from the bottom of the table, while Canterbury looked to add another bonus point win which could secure them a home semi-final. However the Magpies could not stop this Canterbury team, a machine that is building momentum towards the playoffs, suffering a 44-3 defeat.
