Canterbury Rugby celebrated at Marriotts Hadlee Sports Awards

Canterbury's sporting best were recognised at the 2014 Marriotts Hadlee Sports Awards on 14 February, and Canterbury Rugby had much to celebrate. The awards recognise the region's sports heroes, from household names to the unsung heroes and from officials and administrators to athletes and coaches.
The Sir Richard Hadlee Supreme Sportsperson of the Year award went to Canterbury Rugby's barnstorming number eight Kieran Read, who also took home the Sportsman of the Year award.
The Canterbury Rugby A Team were rewarded for their sixth consecutive ITM Cup Premiership title with the Sports Team of the Year award, and its coach, Scott Robertson, took top Sports Coach of the Year honours.
Canterbury and Crusaders analyst Jamie Hamilton was a finalist for the Science of Sport award, and Canterbury rugby referee Chelsea Gurr was a finalist for the Sports Official of the Year.
