Canterbury Rugby releases $6 tickets for semi
- Friday 18th October 2013
Canterbury Rugby is today putting one thousand tickets on sale at just $6 (plus service fee) for the semi-final against Auckland this Saturday afternoon.
The tickets, which are for the East Stand, will go on sale from midday today until they are sold.
Canterbury Head Coach Scott Robertson said he hoped this one-off special offer would help to get more people along to support the team at this crucial game.
“Our supporters this season have been superb, and nobody should underestimate the lift that gives the team. This semi-final against Auckland is our biggest game yet and we’re going to need the support of the home crowd more than ever.
“It is awesome that a thousand lucky fans will get to see such an exciting game for just six dollars, and it is also fantastic for us that we’ll have even more supporters there to cheer us on. This may be your last chance to get to a home game this season, so grab yourself a ticket, come along and make yourself heard,” Robertson said.
Six dollars is significant because, if Canterbury can win the semi-final this weekend, they will proceed to the final and the chance to take their sixth consecutive Premiership title – an opportunity no other team in the national provincial competition has ever had.
Other tickets for the game start at $12.50 for an adult ticket, $17 for one adult and one child, $18 for two adults, or $50 for five adults (plus service fees). Tickets can be purchased from Ticket Direct (www.ticketdirect.co.nz, ph. 0800 224 224), The Palms, South City Champions of the World, or selected Warehouse stores.
Kick off for the semi-final is at 2:05pm this Saturday at AMI Stadium, and gates open at 11am for the Canterbury Women vs Wellington Pride curtain raiser at 11:30am.
